Araguani 72% – The excellence of Venezuelan cocoa by Valrhona
Valrhona has selected the Sur del Lago region in Venezuela, renowned for the richness of its terroir, which gives Araguani its aromatic complexity. The name Araguani refers to the “Araguaney,” an iconic tree in Venezuela, as well as “Guarani,” the name of a native people in this region.
Valrhona has had a longstanding relationship with Venezuela since the 1990s, marked by its commitment to rehabilitating ancient cocoa varieties, such as Porcelana, in order to ensure their preservation. Today, Valrhona continues to work closely with its Venezuelan partner to guarantee the conservation of the genetic richness of local cocoa varieties, which make Araguani so unique.
