Description

Satin Ice gum paste is a premium quality modeling paste, ready to use. It rolls out very thinly and allows you to create realistic flowers, delicate leaves, figurines, and much more. Once dry, it hardens and can be stored for a long time in an airtight container.

Color: White

What Can It Be Used For?

This gum paste is used to create decorations such as figurines, sugar flowers, toppers, and various details to place on desserts.

What’s the Difference Between Fondant and Gum Paste?

Gum paste rolls out very easily, just like fondant. However, it is denser and more elastic, allowing it to be rolled out very thinly to form sugar flowers and other decorations. It dries hard, which helps it maintain its shape. It is generally used for decorative purposes and rarely consumed.

Can You Mix Gum Paste with Fondant?

Yes! Mixing gum paste with fondant speeds up drying time and makes the mixture harder.

Basic Handling

Tips:

  • Ensure your hands, tools, and work surface are clean and dry.
  • Wrap and seal unused gum paste to prevent it from drying out.
  • Work quickly to keep the paste pliable.
  • Knead the paste to make it more flexible.

  • Roll out the paste to about 3 mm thick (1/8”).
  • After use, store it at room temperature.
  • To stick elements together, use water, piping gel, or edible glue.

Storage

Unused gum paste should be resealed quickly and wrapped airtight. Scraps should be stored separately. Keep at room temperature, away from direct light.
