Our famous vegetable monique is actually a "vegetable scoop". We slide the cut pieces on the board to carry them to the pot or pan. This avoids moving our heavy board or using our hands and scattering the vegetables along the way.
This tool is a marvel of ingenuity. Made of maple and walnut, it was designed by Olivier Doray for "Le Temps des Cigales", following repeated requests from Monique, his mother!
