The Planifolia type vanilla beans that are grown in Indonesia have developed a flavor typical to their terroir. Although each island of Indonesia produces its own specific terroir flavors, the entire archipelago offers a distinct bouquet from other regions of the world. JAVA vanilla will surprise you with its spicy and slightly bitter notes reminiscent of mace and black licorice. Moreover, unlike almost all the vanillas in the world, it does not have any chocolate or fruit notes... except for a few raisins.
