For weeding, picking lettuce or dandelions.
Its sharp, sturdy blade makes it indispensable in the garden. Its beech wood handle fits the shape of your hand for maximum comfort. The 8.5 cm stainless steel blade provides efficient cutting and easy maintenance. This tool is equipped with a Virobloc ring for safe working. A gift for all gardening enthusiasts.
Additional information:
- Blade length: 8.5 cm
- Martensitic stainless steel - Hardness 55-57 HRC. Origin: Europe.
The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is optimized to ensure both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.
The blade offers excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion (wear), allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing to be resharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no special maintenance under normal conditions of use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when exposed to prolonged contact with aggressive environments (acid, salt water, detergents, etc.).
- Handle: Beech is the wood most commonly used to make Opinel handles. Sourced from French forests, it is hard, resistant, and easy to work with. It has a uniform appearance and its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by the presence of numerous small dark lines. The handle is varnished for better protection against moisture and dirt.
- Handle length: 4.2 inches
- Safety Ring: Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from No. 06 upwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (for safety during use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (for safety during transport).
