SMEG

Founded in 1948 in Guastalla, near Reggio Emilia in Italy, by Vittorio Bertazzoni, Smeg began as an enamelling and metalworking company. Its name keeps that memory alive: Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla, or “Emilian metallurgical enamelling works of Guastalla.” Today, the company is still owned by the Bertazzoni family and its headquarters remain in Guastalla.

Smeg has developed its products in collaboration with architects and designers, including Guido Canali, Mario Bellini, Renzo Piano, Marc Newson, and the studio deepdesign. Its small appliance range, designed with deepdesign in the spirit of 1950s styling, has won the Good Design, iF Design, and Red Dot awards. The Smeg collection brings together kettles, toasters, espresso machines, blenders, stand mixers, citrus juicers, air fryers, waffle maker multi-grills, cookware, and knife blocks, available in several aesthetics, as well as special editions created with Dolce & Gabbana, Porsche, or Inès de La Fressange.

Smeg combines technology, design, and style, with the idea that the objects in a home should not only be functional, but also create atmosphere and decorate the space. The selection is for those who want to equip their kitchen with appliances that have a strong character, inspired by “Made in Italy.”
