Description

This knife has a very special meaning! Children can use it to learn how to make their own sandwiches after a walk in the woods, to carve sticks or to start a tree house.

Specially designed for children, it has an 8cm blade with a round tip, and a blue handle with a protective layer against dirt and water. What's more, it features the Virobloc system for locking the blade in the open or closed position.

A great childhood memory.

Technical specifications

- Blade length : 8 cm

- The modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, giving a very satisfactory cutting edge without being susceptible to corrosion. 57-58 HRC blade hardness.

- The tip of the blade is rounded for greater safety in use. It is also ideal for spreading.

- Handle: Hornbeam comes from French forests. It is a white wood with little grain, ideal for applying colors without distorting them. The handle is varnished to protect it from humidity and dirt.

- Safety ring: Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted on all closing knives from N°06 upwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safety in transport).
