These six retro coasters pay tribute to the most famous advertisements for absinthe. The “green fairy” has a scandalous history: this alcohol was hugely popular in the 19th century, but the excesses associated with its consumption ultimately led to it being banned in 1915. Art Nouveau is clearly honored in these advertisements, with their arabesques and sensual female figures that elevate absinthe to totem status.
