The CLARIS filter cartridge contains a layer of natural active ingredients at the bottom that stabilise the water in the tank and thus reduce limescale deposits at the bottom. The system works without any additional energy or action: thanks to the natural movement of the water in the tank, it constantly flows through the layer of active ingredients. With its composition based on activated carbon, the CLARIS filter cartridge always uses the principle of upward flow. Using ion exchange, its upper part filters exactly the amount of water needed for a perfect cup of coffee.

CLARIS provides the ideal water for perfect coffee specialities. The capacity of a filter cartridge depends on the degree of water hardness.

The independent international testing institute TÜV Rheinland has awarded JURA the certificate confirming that its fully automatic machines are microbiologically flawless. Limescale: source of breakdowns and taste destroyer

Limescale is deposited when water is heated. It narrows the diameter of the pipes, which extends heating times and increases power consumption, and can even lead to a complete breakdown of the machine. Limescale also impairs the taste of coffee. In small quantities, it is an important taste enhancer. On the other hand, a high limescale content in the water gives it an unpleasant aftertaste and prevents the optimal development of the coffee aromas, as well as due to temperature fluctuations.
