These original paper napkins feature Bécassine, a legendary character from the 20th century. Created in 1905 by Joseph Pinson for the magazine La Semaine de Suzette, Bécassine quickly became popular with readers. Interpretations of this character are controversial: some focus on her flaws (Bécassine is said to be scatterbrained, clumsy, and even a little silly) and denounce what they see as a Parisian view of Bretons. Others, on the contrary, see her as an inventive and resourceful woman. Whatever your interpretation, these original paper napkins will make a splash on your table... at teatime, of course!
